Meetup50 Cruise Celebration Group Details
It is official: we are going on a cruise! We have secured a dedicated group block for an incredible 5-night Caribbean getaway directly out of the Port of Tampa. This is our official hub for cabin rates, ship details, and our day-by-day travel schedule.
Stateroom Options & Group Pricing
We have initially locked in a block of 8 cabins (16 berths total) to secure these special low group rates. We can add more rooms to our group as people sign up, but please note that rates for additional rooms may increase based on the cruise line's current market pricing. Reach out early to secure your preferred location!

What's Next for the Group?
More details regarding official booking instructions, dining table arrangements, and specific meetup activities will be added in separate postings soon. Since spaces at these specific locked-in group rates are limited, contact us as soon as possible to claim your cabin type and join the celebration!
Understanding Solo Cruise Pricing & The Single Supplement
Royal Caribbean does not offer special group discount rates for solo travelers. When one guest occupies a standard stateroom, the cruise line applies a "single supplement" fee - meaning a single traveler essentially has to cover the base fare cost of the full cabin (two berths).
The Cost-Saving Alternative: Studio Staterooms
As of 5/23/26, live inventory shows an alternative available. Royal Caribbean has a specific category called a Studio Interior (Category 2W). These are compact cabins designed specifically for solo travelers, meaning they have zero single supplement fees built into the rate. Please note there are currently only two of these studio cabins left on the ship!
The pricing for your solo housing configurations breaks down as follows (all total prices below already include your core cruise fare, government taxes, and port fees):
The Studio Interior is a wonderful way to maximize your travel savings if you do not plan on spending much time inside your cabin. Because of the limited inventory of this category, these specific solo-berth cabins will likely book up very quickly.
Deposit Timelines & Payment Terms
The promotional rates outlined above utilize an active incentive requiring a lower, non-refundable deposit to lock in your cabin assignment.
*Rates and onboard credit structures are pulled from live carrier availability and are subject to change by the line until a deposit is applied. Licensed travel agency.
Travel Services Agreement Confirmation
To ensure a smooth and secure booking process for our entire travel party, all participants are required to review the standard terms governing our group arrangements.
To finalize your booking arrangements, please review the complete Travel Services Agreement document.
Convenient Electronic Acceptance
For your convenience, you do not need to print, scan, or separately sign this document physically. We utilize an implied consent framework for all registered group members:
You can read, print, or download the full formal text of the legal contract via the link below:
Protecting Your Travel Investment
Because domestic health insurance often stops at the border and standard cruise line protection can be limited, we recommend these specialized providers for our group members:

Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Seas: Quick Facts
Jewel of the Seas belongs to Royal Caribbean’s sophisticated Radiance Class. It is widely loved by cruise enthusiasts because of its bright, ocean-facing design, featuring acres of glass, massive panoramic windows, and outward-facing glass elevators that provide sea views from almost anywhere on the ship.
What Makes It Great for Our Meetup50 Group?
If you are exploring our vacation choice, here are the key selling points that make this ship stand out:
Onboard Amenities & Highlights
There is plenty included in your cruise fare to keep everyone entertained, whether you want high-energy activities or total poolside relaxation.
Because Jewel of the Seas is a mid-sized vessel, it can navigate into exotic ports and slip beneath certain bridges that the mega-ships simply cannot reach. It offers a sophisticated cruise experience with all the core signature activities Royal Caribbean is famous for.
Your Vacation Essentials are Covered
One of the greatest benefits of cruising is that your base price covers nearly everything you need for a comfortable and exciting vacation. This "all-inclusive" feel makes it one of the best values in the travel industry.
The "Zero-Dollar" Vacation
It is entirely possible to enjoy your entire vacation without spending a single extra penny once you step on the ship. Because the essentials are pre-paid, you can focus on the experience rather than the price tag of every meal or show.
What typically costs extra?
While the essentials are included, most cruise lines offer premium experiences for an additional fee to customize your trip:
Planning Your Total Vacation Budget
While the base fare provides incredible value, it is important to account for the "extras" to avoid surprises on your final bill. Most cruise lines operate on a "pay-as-you-go" model for premium services and certain mandatory fees.
The "Mandatory" Extra: Gratuities
Most cruise lines omit mandatory tips from their initial quotes. You can generally expect to pay approximately $19 per person, per night. This fee is automatically added to your onboard account and distributed among the housekeeping and dining staff who serve you.
Regulatory Fees & Fuel Supplements
Cruise lines include contractual terms that allow them to assess surcharges based on global economic indicators. It is vital to understand these potential shifts when budgeting.
Royal Caribbean International reserves the right to impose a fuel supplement on all guests if the price of West Texas Intermediate fuel exceeds $65.00 per barrel. If implemented, the costs break down as follows:
Customizing Your Experience
These expenses are entirely optional but can significantly impact your budget depending on your travel style:
Entertainment and Wellness
Port & Travel Logistics
Don't forget the costs of getting to the ship itself. For those driving to the terminal, parking is a factor:
Official terminal parking in Tampa is about $15 per car, per night. However, you can often find lower rates at nearby private lots that offer shuttle service directly to the port.
Beating Expensive Shipboard Internet Fees
Most cruisers are shocked when they see the price of onboard Wi-Fi. A basic browsing package often costs around $25 per night for a single device - and you are forced to buy it for every day of your cruise! For a 10-day trip, that is $250 just to check your email and send messages.
The Cellular Satellite Alternative: GigSky
GigSky is a digital eSIM (not a piece of hardware) that installs directly onto your phone and connects to the ship's cellular satellite network instead of the cruise line's local Wi-Fi router network.
Budget Option: Messaging + Essentials Plan
For travelers who do not need full web browsing, video streaming, or heavy data access, GigSky offers a highly curated, app-only option to minimize vacation infrastructure spending.
This plan is built specifically to maintain crucial communication channels (WhatsApp, iMessage), navigation systems (Google/Apple Maps), rideshare services (Uber/Lyft), and email syncing without luxury data pricing:
Setup & Phone Requirements
Since GigSky operates completely via eSIM technology, there is no physical chip to swap out. However, activation does require a little minor adjustment to your mobile settings:
The Visa Signature Partnership Perk
Before paying a penny for data packages, look at your wallet! Check the lower right front area of your credit cards - if you see the word "Signature" or "Infinite" stamped under the VISA logo, you qualify for special promotions.
*Pricing and promotional offers (including the Visa Signature bonus) are subject to change. Please verify current rates, complete terms, and the official list of supported 2027 cruise vessels within the GigSky app prior to purchasing.
Destination Spotlight: Cozumel, Mexico
Cozumel is an absolute paradise for outdoor lovers, history buffs, and beach loungers alike. As the first official port of call on our itinerary, it offers incredible tropical variety directly off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula.
How Should I Book My Shore Excursions?
You have complete flexibility in how you choose to plan your day in port. Our group members can arrange activities using two primary paths:
Is Cozumel Good for Snorkeling and Scuba Diving in March?
Cozumel is globally renowned for possessing some of the clearest marine visibility and healthiest coral reef structures in the world, making snorkeling and scuba diving the top-rated activities on the island.
March is a beautiful, dry, and incredibly sunny month in Mexico. However, because it marks the tail-end of the winter season, the ocean water can occasionally feel a bit refreshing when you first jump in, averaging around 79°F to 80°F (26°C).
If a few members of our group want to team up and coordinate booking the exact same excursion together to explore the island as a team, please let me know! I can help point you toward specific Viator options that easily accommodate small group blocks so everyone can stay together seamlessly.
Destination Spotlight: Costa Maya, Mexico
Costa Maya is a unique port that offers two completely different vibes depending on your travel style. You can enjoy the massive, purpose-built cruise port complex - which features free saltwater swimming pools, swim-up bars, restaurants, and an extensive shopping plaza - or venture out to explore the authentic beauty of the Yucatan coast.
How Should I Book My Costa Maya Excursions?
You have excellent paths available to plan your port day. Activities can be arranged based on your preference for convenience or group size:
Is Costa Maya Good for Snorkeling or Scuba Diving in March?
Yes! Costa Maya sits right along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest coral reef system in the world. The reef structure is located just a short boat ride out from the Mahahual shore and is home to vibrant coral gardens, sea turtles, and tropical fish.
March is one of the premier months to visit the Yucatan because the weather is consistently sunny and dry. However, the Caribbean water can sometimes feel a bit refreshing when you first dive in, hovering around 79°F to 80°F.
Hurricane Season Overview
Understanding the timing of the season helps in planning the best value for your cruise. It is important to note that these weather patterns do not occur during the winter or spring months.
If you are looking for the most budget-friendly way to see the Caribbean, this window offers significant savings compared to the peak spring and winter seasons.
Group Cruise Survey: Quick Summary
Six people have responded so far and are currently guiding the decision. If you haven't expressed your preference yet, please chime in - it is not too late! Our group is small, so every vote counts.
Note: If your personal preference does not match the popular vote, we can always arrange an individual booking for you instead of the group itinerary.
Next Steps:
I will wait a few more days for any final feedback. If there are no significant changes to these results, I will begin searching for group rates for short cruises from Tampa to Mexico for next Spring.
Thank you for your interest in our Meetup group cruise! To help narrow down the best itinerary, I have a few quick questions. Answering is completely optional - you are welcome to just go with the flow and join wherever the group decides to sail! But sharing your preferences now puts you in the driver's seat for our final plan.
As a starting point, we will look at an ocean cruise heading to the Caribbean from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, or Tampa (note that Tampa usually hosts smaller/older ships).
Again, all answers are optional, but those who reply will help shape where and when we go. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
